Townleys

The final stages of a loved one passing is a tough period in everyones lives that they have to go through. When my grandfather passed away in September of 2022 it was a huge loss for my family. The following days ensued with organising funeral arrangements and a slew of other tasks that grieving families have to take care of, all the while trying to process the loss of a loved one. One of these tasks includes trying to find a group of undertakers to care of my grandfather in his last stages of being here. When P.Townley & Sons (or ‘Townleys’ as they’re known around Drogheda) arrived at our door after arrangements were made, I was struck by their level of empathy, care and understanding they gave to my family and grandfather as well. ‘Townlys’ is an ongoing documentary project aiming to explore a day in the life of Townleys and the level of care and empathy they give tirelessly in their day to day lives.
